“More people have walked on the moon than have been to some of the places Jill Heinerth has explored right here on Earth.”
Most of you know about my obsession with scuba diving. What you may not know is that I’m also the Social Media Director & Events Chair for one of the largest scuba diving clubs in the US, the NYC Sea Gypsies. And this month, my reading & diving worlds will be colliding as I help host an exclusive book launch by an international author!
Harper Collins is publishing this amazing book by Jill Heinerth, one of the most celebrated divers in the world. This book will be launched at a NYC Sea Gypsies event I’m co-hosting & my favorite independent bookstore, Strand, will also be on site selling copies of the book for Jill to sign. It gave me such a thrill to be emailing with Harper Collins, Strand Bookstore, & Canadian-born Jill Heinerth so I decided to pass along some of that excitement to you with a special book club member perk.
But first a little about the book…
“Into the Planet” (https://amzn.to/2GTPZRi) is the #1 new release in Travel Biographies & Memoirs on Amazon, & critics are loving this firsthand account of exploring Earth’s final frontier: the hidden depths of our oceans & the sunken caves inside our planet.
"Heinerth vividly depicts the extraordinary aquatic vistas she's discovered powerfully recreating the exhilaration of staking out 'the longest underwater cave system in the world’ and living with the fear of equipment malfunctions and the constant threat of death. Heinerth's well-paced, informative memoir provides a thrill ride into unfamiliar worlds." —Publishers Weekly
"Enchanting. . . . An exhilarating, deeply personal memoir. . . . Told with sensitivity and joyful enthusiasm, this is an inspiring story that will appeal to many." —Kirkus Reviews
If you’re in NYC on Aug. 20, you’re more than welcome to attend the book launch & meet the author (& me!). However, for those of you who live elsewhere, our book club is offering you an exclusive perk—I’ll personally secure a copy of the book signed by Jill & dedicated to you at no extra cost!
