What Mexican Book Should We Read?

While Mexico is a country familiar to many, few people seem to read literature truly from there. Trying to think back, I'm not sure whether I've read anything from there myself that's actually written by an Mexican author as opposed to a Spaniard, Britain, or American. But now's the time to change that & read books written by those who intimately know Mexico.

This month we had 3 suggestions from book club members so we randomly chose 2 of them as shown here. However, Mia was so enamored with the 3rd book that she decided to include it as her suggestion this month. So thank you to Aisha Esbhani & Judy Shenk for their suggestions included as the official book club member suggestions & Ester Elbert for her suggestion now included as Mia's!
